*Chris Brown was nominated for a Grammy on Sunday in the best R&B album category but when he lost to pianist Robert Glasper, the R&B crooner expressed his frustration on social media.
“YALL PLAYING WHO DA F–K IS THIS?” Brown captioned a screenshot on his Instagram Story of Glasper being announced as the winner, PEOPLE reports.
Glasper’s 2022 album “Black Radio III” won over the other nominees in the category that included PJ Morton, Mary J. Blige and Lucky Daye.
In screenshots captured by The Shade Room, Brown noted in his rant: “IM GOING TO KEEP KICKING A– RESPECTFULLY” and added, “BRO WHO THE F–K IS ROBERT GLASPER?”
Brown said he needs to “start playing the harmonica” and added a photo of himself playing the instrument along with the caption “NEW LEVEL UNLOCKED!” and “HARMONICA BREEZY.”
On Monday, Brown returned to his Instagram Story to apologize to Glasper.
“I would like to apologize if you took offense to my reaction at the Grammys,” Brown stated in his direct message to Glasper, adding, “you were not the intended target and I know I came off really rude and mean. After doing my research I actually think your amazing … THE ORGANIZATION ISNT DOING US BLACKS OUR DUE DILIGENCE. YOU AND I SHOULD never be in the same categor,” continued Brown.
Brown continued: “Two totally different vibes and genres. So from one black man to another.. CONGRATULATIONS.. HOPE YOU ARE ABLE TO FEED YOUR FAMILY FOR LIFE. God bless my G.”
