Teacher’s Leg Broken During Fight with High School Student Caught on Camera | Watch

*A Georgia sheriff’s office is investigating a viral video showing a Black female student physically assaulting a teacher.

The disturbing footage circulated on social media; and luckily, the teenager is facing criminal charges for her wild antics, according to Black Enterprise. The confrontation occurred between the female teacher and her ninth-grade student inside a classroom at Heritage High School on Jan. 27,  WSB-TV, reports.

In the clip, the teenager is seen invading the woman’s space, shouting about the way the teacher spoke to her. The teacher attempts to remain calm and as she tries to call for assistance, the student knocks the cell phone out of her hands.

As the teacher walks out of the classroom, the student slams the door but when the instructor returns, all hell breaks loose and that’s when the teen becomes physically violent.

Another adult attempts to de-escalate the situation, but the teacher and student spill out into the hallway and fall to the ground. They are ultimately separated but the teacher reportedly suffered a broken leg during the melee. According to the Daily Mail, she was hospitalized with multiple injuries.

“She’s a pretty good teacher, but how she talks, she talks with aggression,” said a student who witnessed the fight. “How she talks to kids is not a proper way to talk to them.”

The student was reportedly taken to the Juvenile Detention Center following the assault. She has been suspended from school and now facing criminal charges.

“Rockdale County Public Schools is investigating an incident where a student allegedly attacked a teacher during class today. RCPS does not tolerate student violence towards any staff members,” said a statement released by the school district.

“Students who harm other students or staff will be disciplined according to our Student Discipline Code of Conduct and will be appropriately charged by law enforcement. We will adhere to personnel and student privacy laws in this matter,” the statement read.

As Daily Mail reports, Verdaillia Turner, president of the Georgia Federation of Teachers, told Fox 5 Atlanta, “Students are out of control […] there is no excuse for the violence […] there is no excuse for children who are coming into our school daily and wreaking havoc so other students cannot learn.”
