Versatility is the key component of this talented musician, who hails from the Motor City. A self-taught musician, bassist and singer/songwriter, Rob McDonald, began his musical career at an early age. Proving to be a talented musician, McDonald performed with his high school’s concert and jazz bands, and upon graduation from Cooley High, moved to Los Angeles with a Detroit based band called Paradise. Local gigs and an international tour in Japan soon followed. Honing his skills while working local clubs and in national touring productions of "Your Arms Are Too Short to Box with God" starring Jennifer Holiday, and “The Wiz” starring Grace Jones, Peabo Bryson, Tony Terry, Cece Peniston, and Howard Hewitt, McDonald began to attract the attention of other national artists including, Brenda Russell, Jeffery Osbourne, Chaka Khan, Cindy Bradley, Peter White and Rick Braun. A two-year touring engagement with Johnny "Guitar" Watson, performance opportunities with Billy Preston, legendary music icon, Tom Jones, a Tonight Show appearance with Toni Braxton, and European engagements with The Funk Bros, George Clinton and the Al McKay All-stars are among career highlights. McDonald toured 6 years with Grammy award-winning guitarist, Norman Brown, whose Summer Storm tour has included guests artists, Peabo Bryson, Richard Elliott, Marion Meadows, Eric Darius, Jeff Lorber, Chante Moore, Paul Taylor, Alex Bugnon, Phil Perry, and Mindy Abair. McDonald, counts among his early influences such greats as Larry Graham, Sly Stone, Johnny “Guitar’ Watson, Bootsy Collins, Parliment Funkadelic Stanley Clark, Louis Johnson, EW&F, Louis Satterfield, is a compilation of versatility, resulting from over 30 years in the music industry.

The unmistakable comedy stylings of stand-up Derrick Ellis are more than simply unique. His act is truly one-of-a-kind. Whether the Houston native is ripping up the stages of concert halls around the country or slaying audiences on the comedy club scene, Derrick can see the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel to comedy's big time. 

After making a splash on HBO's Def Comedy Jam a decade ago, followed by nine successful appearances on BET’s Comic View, and most recently P. Diddy's Bad Boys Of Comedy on HBO, Ellis is steadily carving out a national following of loyal fans. Touting his own point-of-view, Derrick also pays homage to many of comedy's legends. He has the loveably irreverent attitude of Robin Harris, the precise timing of Hinny Youngman, the cool presence of Dick Gregory, and the urban sensibilities of Richard Pryor.  Equally witty and clever as he is
knee-jerk hilarious, Derrick’s shtick will make you crack up
and picture what he just said at the same time.
